3D Print Propeller with After Treathment
3D Print Propeller with After Treathment
In general, ship propellers are made of metal. This is because the thrust and torque generated by the propeller can put pressure on the propeller itself. So it is possible for the propeller blade to change shape or bending. In addition, metal propellers are quite expensive. So in this project I tried several materials in making propellers. The propeller used is the CPP (Controlable Pitch Propeller) Wageningen Series with type C4-40. The shaftless blade model is taken from a 3D design created and printed using 3D Print. After that, several treatments were carried out such as lamination with carbon fiber and melting the surface to increase elasticity. In addition, a mold is made from rubber to be printed using resin.
