Airflow Simulation in Engine Room
Airflow Simulation in Engine Room
An enclosed space, such as the engine room on a ship, will have very limited airflow. Therefore, a closed room will have a system of air flow in and out to maintain air circulation in it. A good HVAC system when the air inflow equals the airflow out. However, the problem that arises in this project is the lack of incoming air flow so that the room in the ship's engine room becomes hotter and uncomfortable. I did a CFD simulation for the engine room space which was conditioned close to the real thing. From the simulation results, it can be concluded that it is necessary to add a blower for airflow other than from above the room. The position of the ventilation above makes the air not spread evenly and immediately comes out without giving a significant impact on room temperature.
