Seakeeping Simulation for Container Ship with Vane
Seakeeping Simulation for Container Ship with Vane
The seakeeping test is a process by which it estimates "how the ship's handling occurs when the waves hit the ship". Many modifications were made to the hull of the ship to reduce pitching motion. One of them is by adding a vane to the stern of the ship. A vane is a hydrofoil that is placed behind the ship to balance the ship when the bow hits the waves. I helped simulate the seakeeping of a ship with a certain wave amplitude value. In addition, it helps to analyze the simulation results and it is found that with a certain angle of attack on the vane can reduce the pitching that occurs on the ship for the direction of the waves from the front.
